This is an ongoing discussion and there are many paths to get you where you’re going. The Marketplace is full of numerous books, methods and opinions. In the following are some general thoughts about some of the principles of green design. Will be adding to this list with more links and information.
Most of a short list would include a super insulated wall system, orientation to the sun for passive solar gain, durable low maintenance materials and landscape. One way of looking at the subject is in terms of “Light Green, Medium Green And Deep Green."
There are many shades of Green that make features possible for any project and any budget.
